EK-DeBatt is a Europe-wide network of battery experts. However, since being established by battery experts in Germany at the beginning, it primarily operates as a subgroup of VeKNI, which provides most of its resources. Its activities have been funded through projects supported by KOFST, one of VeKNI's primary funding sources.

VeKNI was established in 1973, with a purpose of strengthening ties among members and promoting scientific exchanges between Korea and Germany.
VeKNI supports Korea’s scientific, technological, and industrial development.
VeKNI operates through an executive committee, advisory board, and special committees, with 12 regional chapters across Germany.
Membership is open to students, researchers and professionals in the fields of science and engineering, regardless of nationality, as long as they work in Germany.
Annual event: conference and networking (usually one weekend on October)
The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST)
KOFST is a major private organization representing science and technology societies and research institutes in Korea.
KOFST was established in 1966 to support scientific organizations, advocate for scientists' rights, and develop science policies for national progress.
KOFST represents over 780 academic and research groups, including Korean scientists abroad, and promotes science exchanges globally.
